My weekly "mood" sketch to music didn't come easily this week. I struggled with getting started and with choosing what to sketch. I decided I wanted to sketch the mood "happy." However, instead of deciding on happy music, I decided to research happy colors.
See the links below about colors, and how they affect your mood. I chose blues and purples, happy and creative colors according to the information in the links. My music choice for this sketch was acoustic guitar with upbeat melodies.
My subject matter is my pet bird, Shmick, a cockatiel. In the wild, cockatiels are grey and yellow with orange cheek patches. Shmick is yellow and white with orange cheek patches. In order to keep the mood happy, I used dominant blue colors and muted the natural yellows and orange.
Although it was hard to get started. The sketch, the colors, and the music were therapeutic; it was worth the effort - a joyful experience.
